The 6th green at Shannopin Country Club

Registration for 2020 WPGA Play Days opens April 1
By WPGA • March 31, 2020

The increasingly popular WPGA Play Days offer Association members the opportunity to explore WPGA Member Clubs in a relaxed, enjoyable, and non-competitive environment while paying an affordable rate. Unlike a competition, players can pick their group and tee time and select the tee markers they would like to play from. This is a great opportunity to meet new players or get your regular group together to play a quality golf course at a great price.

Unfortunately, due to the Stay-At-Home Order affecting most of the state, the Play Days that were scheduled for April have been postponed. We will try to work with the clubs to reschedule them. he schedule now opens with Green Oaks Country Club on on May 6th. There are several new sites on this year’s schedule, including Shannopin Country Club on June 17th, Sunnehanna Country Club on June 29th and Latrobe Country Club on August 20th. Players who are looking to join the WPGA need a Handicap Index® issued by an existing WPGA Member Club or can join online here.

About WPGA Play Days

Registration

Registration opens for individual WPGA Play Days about five weeks in advance of the scheduled date on a Wednesday at 9 AM. Registration will open for the Play Days at Green Oaks Country Club, Quicksilver Golf Club and Penn State Golf courses on April 1st. Players must register online through our Event Registration Portal. During registration, the names of guests or additional Members can be entered, if applicable.

Cost

The cost of WPGA Play Days varies depending on the host club but will always be made more affordable than a regular day. Entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, and a sleeve of golf balls. Payment per player will be made the day of the scheduled round at the host club. The cost of a particular Play Day will be displayed on the Registration Form.

Tee Times

Depending on the Play Day, tee times will either be made through the host club or the WPGA. That information, along with when tee times can be made, is included on the Registration Form.

If any other cancellations or changes need to be made to the schedule due to the current events, we will be sure to communicate that. For now, registration will go on as previously scheduled.

We look forward to another successful season of WPGA Play Days!
