GROVE CITY — Following its successful debut a year ago, the WPGA Women’s Triple Play returns Monday to Grove City Country Club.

Coinciding with the growth of women’s golf participation, the WPGA introduced the Women’s Triple Play in 2024. The event drew a large, talented field, as well as rave reviews for its friendly, team-based structure.

The format of the event is 18 holes of variable net team stroke play. Teams will consist of four players each. Scoring is Best 1 ball of 4 on Stroke Index Holes 1 thru 6, Better 2 balls of 4 on Stroke Index Holes 7 thru 12 and Better 3 balls of 4 on Stroke Index Holes 13 thru 18.

The competition is open to all female amateur golfers residing in the Western Pennsylvania region, with a Handicap Index® and with membership at a WPGA Member Club.

A year ago, the team of Pam Lamagna, Rebecca Winek, Jackie McKinney and Bridget Minnock took home the first title in the competition that brought out 80 female golfers from throughout the region. Last year’s championship winning team will all compete together Monday.

This year, the field will be comprised of 22 teams and 88 players, signifying the continual increase in interest in women’s competitions in Western Pennsylvania and beyond.

Play will begin as a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
