The competition is 18 holes of stroke play with a field of 57 players, 38 contestants in the Senior Division and 19 contestants in the Super-Senior Division. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Practice: Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 814-255-3106. Arrangements must be made in advance, are at the discretion of the golf shop and are at a rate of $75 with a cart. The practice range will open at roughly 7:15 AM the morning of the competition. All practice round fees are the responsibility of the player.
Tee Markers: Play for the Senior Division is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,350 Yards). Play for Super-Senior Division is from the WHITE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,000 Yards). Yardages will be contingent on course conditions.
Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the competition and included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Two carts per group will be permitted for threesomes and one cart per twosome. Sunnehanna does offer caddies and they must be arranged in advance by contacting the golf shop at 814-255-3106. Caddies will not be available on site the morning of the competition. Caddie expenses are the responsibility of the player.
Lodging: Holiday Inn Johnstown-Downtown is the recommended hotel for players. The hotel phone number is 814-535-7777.
Food: The WPGA provides water on course, coffee & juices prior to the competition and lunch will be provided after the competition. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.
Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability. Spectators may purchase lunches at their own expense.
